Love is a basic need. It is also a revolutionary tool for change! Mystery school traditions from around the world have taught that fulfilling our basic needs enable us to operate on the higher planes of existence, and empower us in just about every aspect.

Intimate touch is a fundamental element of the expression and the experience of Love. Unfortunately, our culture conflates the concepts of intimate touch and sex, leading people into interactions that can be confusing, or unsafe. But we are mammals and WE NEED TOUCH!

In this movement workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to exercise emotional bravery and openness to refine your skills in improv dance, and nonverbal communication. We will be exploring a range of archetypal expressions, and holding a special emphasis on non-sexual energy in these interactions.

You will learn how to make invitations, receive cues, and make responses all with clarity in subtle, dance-related situations. By building dance into a language that is exciting, loving, equitable, and without agenda, we can re-pattern old forms of communicating, strengthen our community, and grow confident in our very human exchanges!

We invite you go deeper into Spirit, deeper into your dance, and open to a sacred world of archetypes where Love explores a vast range of dynamics and empowers us to see ourselves with clarity, compassion, and honor. Sink into a deeper knowing of yourself, and the mindful intention of sharing the moment with another.

What to Expect:

In the first part of the session, we’ll explore and warm up with Improvisational Contact Dance, including the concepts of weight sharing and momentum in pairs and groups.

Then we’ll discuss how movement and desexualized touch can apply to any intimate relationship to practice non-judgment in communication, help us release from our expectations, and appreciate the beauty of being in the moment.

This workshop is less a dance workshop and more an exercise in bravery and openness. Improvisation is an essential practice in releasing oneself to say “yes” and to play.

This session requires no previous dancing experience and is not restricted to any gender, orientation, or level of physical ability – anyone 18+ who wishes may participate. Please let us know if you need any accommodations when registering.

You will experience:

  • Leaning into your edge for self expansion!
